Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 271 marks the final chapter of Gege Akutami’s hit manga series, which means the last chapter should hold all the answers fans of the series have been waiting for.
In the lead-up to this highly anticipated finale, there was a brief but curious exchange involving Fumihiko Takaba and a mysterious figure in chapter 270.
Meanwhile, with the final battle drawing near, Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, and Nobara Kugisaki are investigating a new case involving a Culling Game survivor, setting the trio on one final mission.
All eyes are on how these final threads will converge as the story reaches its dramatic conclusion, promising to leave a lasting legacy within Jujutsu Kaisen and the realm of sorcery.
Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 270 recap
The chapter opened with Megumi Fushiguro visiting his sister Tsumiki’s grave and expressing his gratitude to Shoko Ieiri.
Shoko reassured him, commenting on her task of preparing the bodies of the deceased, even though she didn’t believe in the afterlife. She briefly mentioned her regret for not handling Suguru Geto’s body after the Cursed Child arc (Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 0).
Megumi then received a phone call, shifting the scene. Jujutsu Kyoto High principal Yoshinobu Gakuganji updated Utahime Iori and Akari Nitta, explaining that after Ryomen Sukuna was separated from Megumi’s body, traces of Master Tengen were left behind. These remnants were maintaining Tengen’s barriers across Japan for the time being.
Maki Zenin was seen talking with Hagane Daido and Rokujushi Miyo, survivors of the Culling Game. Maki asserted that she was done protecting sorcerers, implying they would need to fend for themselves moving forward.
Daido, however, expressed his desire to challenge Maki in the future, while Miyo complained about how fighting cursed spirits didn’t interest him as much as sumo wrestling.
Meanwhile, Charles Bernard, the mangaka-turned-Jujutsu sorcerer, shared his thoughts on the value of printed manga. He discussed how a publication’s physical format influenced the work’s quality, emphasizing that new creators should learn from experienced veterans.
Despite the comedic tone, Charles’ frustration with his own work became apparent. He described himself as a mangaka whose art was lacking.
The focus shifted to Fumihiko Takaba, who exchanged humorously with a mysterious figure. The figure, whose face was obscured but might have been Geto or Kenjaku, remained silent as Takaba rambled about lowbrow humor and the nuances between dirty jokes.
Rin Amai also made a brief appearance, apologizing for his past actions. Hiromi Higuruma reflected on how he had been spared from prosecution, likely due to external pressures from higher-ups. He seemed ready to continue serving as a sorcerer under these conditions.
Later, Hana Kurusu and Megumi exchanged words. Megumi vowed to take responsibility for Sukuna’s actions.
The chapter ended with Yuji, Megumi, and Nobara investigating a new case. They suspected a surviving Culling Game player was harassing the victim, setting up a confrontation in the next chapter.
