The LCK Summer 2024 playoffs sees the region’s top teams battle it out for a coveted spot at the League of Legends World Championship (Worlds 2024).
Gen.G, the reigning MSI 2024 and LCK Spring 2024 champions is clearly the team to beat as they’re aiming for a historic six-peat.
Their dominance has secured them a spot at Worlds 2024, but the question remains: Can they solidify their legacy with another LCK championship? Or will a rising challenger dethrone the kings of the Korean League?

What is the LCK Summer 2024 playoffs?
The LCK Summer 2024 playoffs is the culminating tournament of the LCK Summer split, where teams fight for the second LCK title of the year and Worlds 2024 qualification.
Format of the LCK Summer playoffs
In the LCK Summer 2024, only the top six out of the 10 franchised esports organizations qualify for the playoffs. The seeding for the playoffs depends on their placement in the regular season.
The playoffs follow a double-elimination bracket format, beginning from round 2. The top two teams from the regular season, Gen.G and Hanwha Life Esports, skip round 1 and directly enter round 2.
In round 1, Dplus KIA, the third seed, picked BNK FearX as their opponent. The remaining team, KT Rolster, faces off against the fourth seed, T1.
Round 2 sees Gen.G, the first seed, selecting their opponents from the winners of round 1. The winning teams from round 2 move to the winner’s final, while the losing teams drop to the lower bracket.
The upper bracket final (first match of round 3) determines the first finalist, while the losing team enters the lower bracket final (round 4) against the winner of the first lower bracket match (second match of round 3).
The winner of the lower bracket final advances to the grand final, where they compete against the upper bracket final winner for the championship trophy.
The LCK Summer 2024 champion and qualifies to represent the Korean region at Worlds 2024 as first seed.
