Alpha x Hashtag disband their Dota 2 roster
Later this week news surfaced, unveiling a SEA Dota 2 team Alpha x Hashtag will disband and release its entire roster, only a couple of months after setting foot into the Dota 2 pro scene.
The SEA Dota 2 scene is currently undergoing one of its best times, with many positive changes on the horizon which will help the growth and development of the region which already houses one of the best teams in the world, such as TNC Predator and Fnatic among others.
Amid all the good news, however, comes a heart-breaking announcement, which revealed Alpha x Hashtag will disband their team less than four months after it was formed by merging Alpha Pro Team and Hashtag E-sports into one.
The team, while far from being considered as one of the best in the region put up some very solid results in their rather short history, including a third-place finish at ESL One Hamburg SEA Open Qualifiers and a top-four placement in the closed qualifiers, where they suffered a reverse sweep from SG Dragons, missing out on upper bracket finals by the skin of their teeth.
At the start of October AxH failed to impress in MDL Chengdu Major SEA closed qualifiers, where they crashed out of the group stage, but fixed their impression by claiming a top spot in both Hashtag Indy Tournament Season 2 and DreamLeague Season 13 SEA Open Qualifier, followed by a ninth-10th place finish at the closed qualifiers.
The team had a lot of potential in them and a respectable following with former fans of Alpha Pro Team and Hashtag E-sports uniting under one banner to cheer for the new team. Unfortunately, those fans will now have a slightly bitterer Christmas. That being said, the disbandment of the team was a long time coming based on the recent events.
Later last week, one of AxH's members, Adam "343" Shah took on Twitter to reveal there is some turmoil in the team, stating AxH is "no longer together" and went on to add that he already put a new team together and is now looking for organizations who wish to sign a SEA roster.

His statement proved to be true shortly after, when Galvin “Meracle” Kang Jian Wen, Kim “Velo” Tae-sung and Wilson “Poloson” Koh Chin Wei all removed themselves from the Alpha x Hashtag's roster on Valve's official Majors registration page.
While we do not know for sure what's going to happen for the former AxH players, nor where will they continue their career, the biggest question mark is above Cheng "vtFaded" Jia Hao, who arrived at the team less than three weeks ago, as a loanee from EHOME. The Malaysian carry also agreed to a role change for his new team, moving from a carry position to number two in a bid to fit in and find himself a new home.
VtFaded before played for Chaos Esports Club as a carry, and helped his team finish 17th-18th at the International 2019. Shortly after the TI, during the massive roster shuffle which involved almost all top-tier Dota 2 teams, vtFaded was recruited by EHOME, where he continued to play in his preferred position.
