AGO bench mhL from their CS:GO roster
A Polish CS:GO squad AGO have announced they are benching their main AWPer, Miłosz "mhL" Knasiak, who will be temporarily replaced by the team's substitute player Maciej "F1KU" Miklas.
The announcement surfaced earlier this Tuesday, February 11, when AGO unveiled they are moving the 17-year-old AWPer to the inactive role in the squad where he will be doing "individual work" for the next couple of weeks, according to AGO's Tweet, which read:
"By the decision of our coaching staff, sniper mhL will spend the upcoming weeks on individual work in the areas calibrated by the trainers."
MhL arrived at the Polish CS:Go squad earlier on September 16, 2019, when the esports Polish organisation decided he has shown enough throughout the rather long try-out process. However, AGO's recent results on the competitive CS:GO stage have been less-than-impressive, seeing how they failed to qualify for IEM Katowice, to which they added some less inspiring results in the qualifiers for the European Minor.
Since AGO won Loot.BET/CS Season 5 back in December, the Polish squad took a swing at IEM Season XIV – World Championship European Open Qualifiers #2, where they defeated Phoenix (16-14), Sinners Esports (16-13), OG (16-10) and Hard Legion (2-0), which were all promising results, however AGO failed to keep the momentum up as they failed to deliver in the next stage of the qualifiers.
At the Katowice Closed Qualifiers, AGO lost to G2 Esports (1-2) in the upper bracket but managed to bounce back in the losers' bracket, where they defeated Heroic (2-1). Unfortunately, they failed to deliver in the second round, where they got stomped by ENCE (1-2), who humiliated them on Inferno (1-16) and Dust II (5-16), thus handed them a premature exit from the qualifiers.
At the end of January, AGO also appeared at European Minor Championship: Rio 2020 Open Qualifier #1, where they started strong with wins against QLASH (16-8), S2V Esports (16-6) and SJ Gaming (16-6), but were unable to deliver against Sprout (8-16). On the second try, in Open Qualifiers #2, AGO got off to a flying start and bested Boys in Blue (16-2), Team Singularity (16-14), HAVU (22-20) and Juggernauts (16-11), but were once more bested by Sprout (0-2), who denied them a spot at Closed Qualifiers.
On the third try, AGO bested Genesis (16-3), SBTID (16-9), sAw (16-8), but lost to Pompa Team in the semis (20-22), meaning they failed to qualify for the next stage for the third time in a row. AGO's frustrating results over the course of last two months ushered the roster shuffle, which will see mhL step down as a team's main AWPer in order to work on himself before he returns to the battlefield.
F1KU, who will serve as mhL's replacement has already made an appearance in the squad in the first open Minor Qualifier, where he shocked everyone with his 1.97 rating against SJ. Now he is set to take over as a temporary member of the main roster, where he will look to further impress and possibly earn himself a permanent spot with the squad. F1KU will take over as team's rifler, while AGO's captain Damian "Furlan" Kisłowski will take over as the AWPer for the time being.
AGO's first appearance with the new-look CS:GO squad will take place on February 14, 2020, when the Polish squad will compete in the European Closed Qualifiers for FLASHPOINT.
