Destiny 2 The Final Shape arrives on 2 June 2024, but before that happens, Bungie is adding a new free update to the game called Into the Light.
Destiny 2 Into the Light looks to fill in the gap between the atrociously long Season of the Wish and the Final Shape expansion, which was previously scheduled to release on 27 February 2024.
Nevertheless, Into the Light looks to be a significant new update in Destiny 2, bringing in a ton of new stuff for players to pursue. But when is the Destiny 2 Into the Light release date?
Destiny 2 Into the Light release date
Destiny 2 Into the Light will be released on 9 April 2024.
What is Destiny 2 Into the Light?
As mentioned above, Destiny 2 Into the Light is a free update with new content, such as the Onslaught activity and limited-time brave weapons.
Onslaught is a new 3-player activity where you and your team battle waves of enemies and bosses to protect the Last City. The primary objective is to defend the Advanced Defense Unit from enemies and hop onto the Pyramid ship to defeat the boss. Onslaught takes place in familiar PvP maps, such as Midtown.
In addition to a new activity, Into the Light is bringing back 12 iconic Destiny 2 weapons for a limited time, each with an overhauled look and enhanced perks. There will also be a new Into the Light armor set for Hunters, Warlocks, and Titans,
Lastly, Into the Light is adding a much-requested new social space in Destiny 2 called Halls of Champions, led by Lord Shaxx and Arcite 99-40. Both vendors have quests to offer, which you can complete to unlock the brave weapons. Raising your vendor rank will also grant you two different keys – Superblack Key Omega and Superblack Key Alpha, which you can use to open chests in Halls of Champions for various rewards, including the new Superblack Shader.
That’s everything you need to know about Destiny 2 Into the Light.
