The asthmatic dendro healer, this pharmacist from Liyue can either be your team’s best dendro applicator or the best healer in Genshin Impact.
This awaited 5-star dendro catalyst user has been a Liyue NPC since version 1.0 of Genshin Impact and became playable in the release of version 3.6.
Many players waited for his release. Now that he’s having a rerun during version 4.6, This updated best Baizhu build guide covers everything you need to know on how to build him properly according to your playstyle.
Baizhu ascension and talent materials
Baizhu’s healing abilities scales up on HP percentage. Still, some gamers build elemental mastery on Baizhu making him a sub-DPS dendro applicator for your team. Utilizing both healing or dendro application requires you ascend him to increase his maximum health.
For this, you must collect specific materials found in Liyue and Sumeru (yes, we know it’s a hassle) and farm the boss drops from “Iniquitous Baptist”. You can refer to this Baizhu’s farming guide route to at least help you in your hiking journey in the mountains of Liyue and in the great forest of Sumeru.

Most of Baizhu’s talent materials are mostly found in Sumeru. His talent materials are farmable in the “Circle of Embers” domain every Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. The Worldspan Fern could be obtained once a week in the “Realm of Beginnings” trounce domain.
Similar to other supports in the game, Baizhu can provide healing, dendro application, and a subtle shield. His skills and healing scales off of his max HP, Meaning most of your forgotten artifacts can be used on him.
He is an off-field support, meaning he can provide healing while you’re using your main DPS in the field. Baizhu’s abilities also scale off by leveling up his talents, prioritizing his elemental burst and his elemental skill next will be the most optimal choice.

Best Baizhu build: Weapons
Baizhu can be played in two different ways: either you utilize his healing by giving him a build prioritizing HP percentage stat to increase his max health, or you give him a weapon with elemental mastery stat, giving him substantial damage when creating elemental reactions.
These catalysts that we have chosen either have a HP percentage boost or elemental mastery substat. We also listed down the catalysts that have a good passive that synergizes well with Baizhu and some free to play options.

Everlasting Moonglow | Base ATK: 608HP: 49.6%

Wildling NightstarThe following effect will trigger every 10s: The equipping character will gain 24% of their Elemental Mastery as bonus ATK for 12s, with nearby party members gaining 30% of this buff for the same duration. Multiple instances of this weapon can allow this buff to stack. This effect will still trigger even if the character is not on the field. |
Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers | Base ATK: 401HP: 35.2%
HeritageWhen switching characters, the new character taking the field has their ATK increased by 24% for 10s. This effect can only occur once every 20s. |
When choosing a weapon for Baizhu, unquestionably his signature weapon, “Jadefall’s Splendor, “is the perfect choice in the list since its passive, Primordial Jade Regalia, synergizes every time Baizhu creates a shield.
Its unique passive restores energy for the party, which charges your elemental burst much quicker and gives an extra elemental damage bonus for every 1,000 HP Baizhu has. This weapon could be used in both support and sub-DPS builds.
Alternatively, the second best free-to-play option, which we are 100% sure everybody has in their inventory, is the “Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers.”. This catalyst basically gives an attack increase after switching to a new character taking the field.
Similar catalysts like Everlasting Moonglow and Prototype Amber are perfect alternatives for support builds while Sacrificial Fragments and Wandering Evenstar could be used as a sub-DPS weapon which provides elemental mastery substat.
Best Baizhu build: Artifacts
We have divided the artifact section into two categories since Baizhu can be built in two different ways.
These artifacts could either utilize Baizhu’s skills which scales off of his max HP or his dendro elemental reactions that scales off his elemental mastery.
Find our recommended Baizhu artifacts in the support role for the best Baizhu build below:
BAIZHU ARTIFACTS: SUPPORT | ARTIFACT DESCRIPTION |
Vourukasha’s Glow | 2-Pieces:HP +20%. 4-Pieces:Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst DMG will be increased by 10%. After the equipping character takes DMG, the aforementioned DMG Bonus is increased by 80% for 5s. This effect increase can have 5 stacks. The duration of each stack is counted independently. These effects can be triggered even when the equipping character is not on the field. |
Deepwood Memories | 2-Pieces:Dendro DMG Bonus +15%. 4-Pieces:After Elemental Skills or Bursts hit opponents, the targets’ Dendro RES will be decreased by 30% for 8s. This effect can be triggered even if the equipping character is not on the field. |
Ocean-Hued Clam | 2-Pieces:Healing Bonus +15%. 4-Pieces:When the character equipping this artifact set heals a character in the party, a Sea-Dyed Foam will appear for 3 seconds, accumulating the amount of HP recovered from healing (including overflow healing). At the end of the duration, the Sea-Dyed Foam will explode, dealing DMG to nearby opponents based on 90% of the accumulated healing. (This DMG is calculated similarly to Reactions such as Electro-Charged, and Superconduct, but is not affected by Elemental Mastery, Character Levels, or Reaction DMG Bonuses). Only one Sea-Dyed Foam can be produced every 3.5 seconds. Each Sea-Dyed Foam can accumulate up to 30,000 HP (including overflow healing). There can be no more than one Sea-Dyed Foam active at any given time. This effect can still be triggered even when the character who is using this artifact set is not on the field. |
Tenacity of the Millelith | 2-Pieces:HP +20%. 4-Pieces:When an Elemental Skill hits an opponent, the ATK of all nearby party members is increased by 20% and their Shield Strength is increased by 30% for 3s. This effect can be triggered once every 0.5s. This effect can still be triggered even when the character who is using this artifact set is not on the field. |
These artifacts listed above are the best choice for support Baizhu builds. The Vourukasha’s Glow artifact set gives him an HP % boost and his dendro damage increases every time Baizhu uses his elemental skill and elemental burst.
Alternatives like Deepwood Memories and Tenacity of the Millelith give Baizhu a similar buff which either boosts his shield durability or an increase in attack percentage.
However, the artifact set Ocean-Hued Clam is the only set that gives him a healing boost for his party and overflow healing. This artifact set is highly recommended for players looking for team sustainability in their gameplay.
Find our recommended Baizhu artifacts in the sub-dps role for the best Baizhu build below:
BAIZHU ARTIFACTS: SUB-DPS | ARTIFACT DESCRIPTION |
Gilded Dreams | 2-Pieces:Increases Elemental Mastery by 80. 4-Pieces:Within 8s of triggering an Elemental Reaction, the character equipping this will obtain buffs based on the Elemental Type of the other party members. ATK is increased by 14% for each party member whose Elemental Type is the same as the equipping character, and Elemental Mastery is increased by 50 for every party member with a different Elemental Type. Each of the aforementioned buffs will count up to 3 characters. This effect can be triggered once every 8s. The character who equips this can still trigger its effects when not on the field. |
Unfinished Reverie | 2-Pieces:ATK +18%. 4-Pieces:After leaving combat for 3s, DMG dealt increased by 50%. In combat, if no Burning opponents are nearby for more than 6s, this DMG Bonus will decrease by 10% per second until it reaches 0%. When a Burning opponent exists, it will increase by 10% instead until it reaches 50%. This effect still triggers if the equipping character is off-field. |
Flower of Paradise Lost | 2-Pieces:Increases Elemental Mastery by 80. 4-Pieces:The equipping character’s Bloom, Hyperbloom, and Burgeon reaction DMG are increased by 40%. Additionally, after the equipping character triggers Bloom, Hyperbloom, or Burgeon, they will gain another 25% bonus to the effect mentioned prior. Each stack of this lasts 10s. Max 4 stacks simultaneously. This effect can only be triggered once per second. The character who equips this can still trigger its effects when not on the field. |
Baizhu is currently the best off-field dendro applicator, prompting players to give him elemental mastery artifacts that utilize the dendro elemental reactions.
The artifact set Gilded Dreams and Flower of Paradise Lost gives elemental mastery stats, significantly boosting his damage when doing elemental reactions. With this, Baizhu’s healing potential will suffer, but you can shred enemies faster in exchange. Who needs healing when the enemy is dead, right?
Lastly, The new artifact set Unfinished Reverie introduces potential “Burn-meta” team comps to the game. Its unique passive gives Baizhu an attack bonus simply when burning enemies are nearby.
If you’re still undecided up to this point, you can simply mix and match 2-piece Vourukasha’s Glow and a 2-piece artifact set which gives elemental mastery.
This concludes our best Baizhu build guide in Genshin Impact.
