Korean League of Legends star Kim “Ssumday” Chan-ho announced a shock retirement from competition on May 7, declaring he will undergo mandatory military service in his home country and then consider a return to streaming or coaching. The 27-year-old’s announcement today ends a glittering decade-long career in League that included stints at home and abroad, with a Korean championship and four Worlds appearances to his name as well as numerous split finals and three LCS All-Pro Team spots. “I’m not sure if I’ve done that well, but I think I’ve done a good job because there are still a lot of…

Faker and Jensen’s rivalry in the mid lane dates back to the golden League of Legends ages, where both the players have faced each other many times, leading to only one outcome—Faker’s all-out domination.  Out of the last 10 encounters, Faker has won all of them and Jensen is yet to win a single match against the Korean Azir. The rivalry started with Jensen sending a tweet in 2016 before playing Faker saying, “can’t wait to clap faker :D.” That tweet has aged terribly, as T1 stomped over FlyQuest in record time, completing LoL’s fastest-ever international best-of-three at the 2024 Mid-Season Invitational in Chengdu, China. In a stacked tournament full of favorites from dominant regions like North America and APAC South, REJECT WINNITY became the first APAC North team to ever win an Apex Legends Global Series LAN, and the first team to do it not named TSM, DarkZero, or Reignite. The South Korean trio of Obly, KaronPe, and SangJoon wrote their names into Apex lore with their consistency and refusal to abandon the team composition that led them to the grand final. They were the only team in the finals lobby to run a Wattson, the traditionally defensive character long out of player favor…
