You wouldn’t be surprised.
Path of Exile 2 is an upcoming free-to-play ARPG in the veins of Blizzard’s Diablo franchise.
It’s gearing up to be a more accessible and cohesive PoE experience than its predecessor with more streamlined gameplay mechanics, console-specific HUD and UI, couch co-op, and plenty more quality-of-life enhancements.
Unlike PoE 1, PoE 2 will simultaneously be released on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, but will there be Path of Exile 2 crossplay and cross progression?
Will there be Path of Exile 2 crossplay?
Yes, PoE 2 supports crossplay across all platforms. You can play the game on PC and invite your friends on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S to join your session and play alongside you or vice versa.
It also means you can encounter players from other platforms while exploring the game’s dark fantasy world.
Does PoE 2 cross progression work?
Yes, PoE 2 supports cross progression on all platforms. You can create a character on PC and continue its progress on PS5 or Xbox Series X/S.
In couch co-op, you can sign in your character on your friend’s system (and vice versa) to retain your character and progression and resume playing.
As of this writing, we are unsure whether cross progression will be available at launch or not. If it does, you would need to link your platform accounts to your game account.
Grinding Gear Games should reveal more details on how to enable cross progression in Path of Exile 2 closer to launch.
Speaking of launch, PoE 2 will launch via early access in late 2024 on all platforms. It will feature a six-act campaign and a sprawling endgame with over 100 maps and boss encounters.
Before its early access launch, Path of Exile 2 will have a closed beta in the second half of the year, though no release date has been confirmed.
