Call of Duty Battle Royale game leaked
Following the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 2, players were greeted with a short cinematic, which teased a Battle Royale game mode, with more leaked images starting to appear on social media shortly after.
The CoD: Modern Warfare Season 2 cinematic proved to be a unique way of Infinity Ward's attempt to tease a new Battle Royale game mode, which went overlooked by many players. However, if we take a look at the final five seconds of the cinematic, it unveils a large scale map with several smaller skirmishes taking place all over, in addition to a group of four soldiers jumping out of a plane, which is an obvious reference to other Battle Royale games such as Apex Legends and Fortnite.
If that was not enough, CoD fans started to post images of a logo for "Call of Duty: Warzone" and pictures of Operators who are standing next to military vehicles. Unfortunately, the said images are not available anymore, as Activision was quick to send out copyright reports and with that got the images take down the internet relatively quickly. This alone suggests the leaked images had some validity.
This is not the first time a Call of Duty battle royale game mode has been mentioned, as it was in talks for several months now. The main argument many CoD fans used to back up their claims that Battle Royale game mode is coming to the widely popular FPS title is the Ground War maps, which were made in a way so they could be fit together and create one huge map – perfectly fit for a Battle Royale mode.
If the leaked images, logos and Ground War map layout is not enough to indicate a release of CoD Battle Royale, a Reddit user added yet another indication the said game mode just might find its way into the game sometime soon.
As revealed by a Reddit used, several CoD players met a glitch, which saw them drop into a Warzone lobby, which, as said before, is the rumoured to be the name for Battle Royale mode for CoD. Below is the leaked image, which has all the lobby options locked, including a training mode.
The same user also showed the options for Weapons, Operators and Barracks inside the Warzone lobby menu, where it was also unveiled that Warzone will have so-called "Drop Kits" that players can edit before jumping into the game.
With the Season 2 update, Call of Duty players also got greeted by a"CLASSIFIED" mode in the games' main menu, which is currently still locked, however, it's a clear indication Infinity Ward are preparing to release a stand-alone feature.
Daniel Ahmad, a trusted industry insider, who previously shared and confirmed leaks for Call of Duty, also stated in his tweet that the players "will be able to play [Warzone] soon enough", while linking an article made by CharlieIntel, which unveiled the Reddit leaked images.
When exactly will we see CoD: Warzone in the game is at this point still a huge mystery as there are no official confirmations nor announcements made by CoD developers. That said, with all the new features that got introduced to the franchise with Season 2, it's safe to assume the players will have more than enough things to do while we wait for the heavily anticipated CoD Battle Royale.
