HECTOz joins Copenhagen Flames
Ex-Wygers Hector "HECTOz" Jensen has become the fifth member of Copenhagen Flames' CS:GO roster, the Danish esports organisation announced on Tuesday.
HECTOz will complete the Danish CS:GO roster only a couple of weeks after Copenhagen Flames parted ways with their AWPer Asger "farlig" Jensen, who left for GODSENT as a replacement for Mikail "Maikelele" Bill on May 22.
This marks one of many roster changes Copenhagen Flames have gone through since the turn of the year and their fourth signing in the last four months. In February, CPH signed Rasmus "HooXi" Nielsen and Ismail "refrezh" Ali as replacements for Asger "AcilioN" Larsen and Thomas "TMB" Bundsbæk, who got benched and later left for MAD Lions and AGF Esdports respectively.
More roster moves followed at the start of April when Copenhagen Flames unveiled their star player René "TeSeS" Madsen has been acquired by Heroic and replaced by an unknown young talent Jonas "Queenix" Dideriksen. Most recently, at the start of May, CPH Flames also signed former Dignitas head coach and Nordavind player Morten "zEVES" Vollan, replacing the team's Co-owner & Director of Esports Daniel "vorborg" Vorborg, who served as a head coach since the start of February.
HECTOz began his professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive career in November 2015 with myXMG, where he remained for just over two weeks, before moving to TRICKED eSports. In years that followed, HECTOz played for Delete, Tricked Academy, FUAH, LPSP!, Diabolus Esports, AGF Esports and was most recently seen competing under the Spanish-Scandinavian mix Wygers, whom he played for only two months, before moving to Copenhagen Flames.
Although a very respected individual in the Danish CS:GO scene, HECTOz has yet to see any success in top-tier tournaments. He gained his renown while playing at Tricked, while HECTOz's best years in his CS:GO career came during his tenure with AGF.
During his time at AGF, HECTOz played alongside HooXi and helped his team reach the grand finals of Geeks Gone Wild #25 and the title of POWER Ligaen – Sæson 13 champions in January and February respectively. Despite his contributions to the team, however, AGF decided to bench HECTOz on May 22 in favour of TMB.
During nine months HECTOz spent with AGF, he averaged 1.08 rating, 42.9% map win rate and ended 54.8% of maps played with a positive rating. This was slightly below his career average rating of 1.09.
HECTOz will now team up with refrezh, Queenix, Magnus "Nodios" Olsen and his former teammate HooXi at CPH Flames, where he will look to prove his worth and lead the Danish team to international success. HECTOz's debut with Copenhagen Flames is slated for Thursday, June 4, when the Danish side are set to begin their journey through #HomeSweetHome: Week 7, where they got placed in Group C alongside forZe, OG and Team Secret.
Copenhagen Flames will play the opening fixture of the tournament against ForZe on Thursday at 10:50 CEST.
