Announcements of Hunter x Hunter manga going on hiatus is not unusual for its aficionados.
The manga took a break once again, shortly after its comeback in October 2024. Following chapter 410’s launch on December 8, 2024, the manga has not released any new content.
The recurrent discontinuations are mainly due to chronic back problems faced by the creator, Yoshihiro Togashi, driving him to take several sabbaticals throughout the history of the manga.
Even though the exact date when the series will continue is still vague, the hiatus is presumed to be shorter than the previous year-long ones.
Recap of Hunter x Hunter’s chapter 410
The chapter proceeded with the dramatic exchange between Morena Prudo and Borksen, carrying it forward from the prior chapter. Morena finalizes Borksen’s choice to affiliate herself with their group. Although Borksen gave her externally verbal approval, she battled internally with the realization that this path was not her preference.
Morena confronted Borksen, divulging she had tricked during their negotiation session. Morena unraveled her ability, which integrated manipulation and deceit, asserting that the act of trickery triggered her Nen ability.
The game was controlled from the beginning, where Borksen was only allowed to answer “yes” or “no.” Morena’s threatening aura compelled Borksen to agree upon joining her group.
Morena expounded the guidelines of her faction, which were intrinsically related to her ability and worked similarly to a game. The community members achieved higher levels via certain actions like enlisting others, assassinating talented people, or murdering one of the royal heirs. Each action offered escalating levels of power.
Achieving superior levels enabled the members to form their own “subgroup” within the faction. Morena emphasized the different aspects, including the inherent supervision and constraints of her game-like Nen ability. While betraying was not explicitly banned, it could have negative consequences if Morena noticed it.
The chapter then shifted its focus when Borksen decided to return to her allies, despite the oppressive terms of joining Morena’s group. Her internal dialogue unveiled her concerns about becoming disposable and the urgency of gaining power swiftly to survive.
