VALORANT star Jaccob “Yay” Whiteaker has been involved in numerous controversies since his transition to Bleed Esports in the Pacific League. Now, it seems his past may be catching up with him.
Retired professional player Amgalan “Genghsta” Nemekhbayar has made serious accusations against yay in a series of recent social media posts. He alleges that the 25-year-old bribed their coach to bench him during their time with Disguised’s Challenger roster in 2023.
In a Discord direct message, Disguised’s former head coach Kyle “OCEAN” O’Brien appears to be contacting Genghsta about the alleged bribe, although the messages lack detailed information.
Genghsta, however, stated that the bribe yay offered to OCEAN was around $10,000 and humorously suggested that OCEAN should have accepted it. This was part of a series of tweets where Genghsta claims he was aware of this information and continued to play the split as yay’s teammate.
The former pro even went as far as to say that none of his teammates have been as challenging to work with as yay. He also provided brief and contradictory explanations for why he was revealing this information, ranging from wanting content to providing insight and “juicy NA drama,” and expressing sympathy for the Bleed players who are experiencing a similar situation.
Yay has been embroiled in multiple controversies since his move to Pacific, including a recent incident where he was accused of not practicing by a former Bleed teammate. Since joining, Bleed has only won a single match, while Yay has struggled to find any success.
In fact, he has only won a single match over the past year after leaving Cloud9, and it came recently after enduring constant defeats in his Pacific debut.
