The global sports franchise, Paris Saint-Germain, has parted ways with Talon Esports in the League of Legends scene. However, both organizations remain open to future collaborations given the “right opportunities”.
PSG is officially calling it quits with the LCP team, Talon, after more than four years in the League domain. Their alliance saw a phase of breakthrough achievements in the region, with several domestic victories and some commendable international performances, including a 4th place finish at the 2021 Mid-Season Invitational.
Talon’s press release asserts that the decision to part ways was mutual and “reflects the evolving priorities and strategies of both organizations”. However, the collaboration between PSG and Talon is not entirely finished as both still work together in Rainbow Six Siege. Only the League engagement has come to an end.
There is no cause for alarm among Talon fans worried about their favourite team’s future. Talon reassured fans on X (formerly Twitter) that the team will continue to participate in the new League of Legends Championship Pacific League (LCP), starting from Jan. 17.
In preparation for the new LCP league, Talon has assembled an impressive squad to maintain its supremacy. The team faced the major challenge of replacing well-known player Huang “Maple” Yi-Tang who retired in the off-season. To tackle this, they enlisted Chu “FoFo” Chun-Lan, an experienced mid laner from the LPL, and Hung “Karsa” Hao-Hsuan, who gained fame alongside Maple on the renowned Flash Wolves roster.
