CR4ZY reportedly selling its entire CS:GO team to a North American organization
CR4ZY, a Croatian esports organization reportedly sold its entire Counter-Strike: Global Offensive roster to an unnamed North American organization, with the official announcement set to surface sometime in the upcoming days.
Reports surfaced this Monday, unveiling that CR4ZY have supposedly made a deal with another esports organization, which will buy their entire CS:GO roster. The name of the NA organization in question is as of today still shrouded in mist, yet it was said, more information should become available in the upcoming days.
Due to the recent rumours, it's currently unclear whether CR4ZY have any plans about remaining involved in the CS:GO scene. While there is a reason to believe they will look to continue their legacy, their departure from the scene would be a shocking one, to say the least.
CR4ZY (then Valiance) entered the CS:GO scene in October 2017 when they acquired Binary Dragons CS:GO team, which consisted of Luka "emi" Vuković, Đorđe "DJOXiC" Niciforović, Nestor "LETN1" Tanić, Nemanja "huNter" Kovač and Anel "NENO" Ceković. The organization went through some major roster changes in the months that followed and on June 9, 2019, rebranded itself into CR4ZY.
CR4ZY rose to prominence in summer of 2019, when they took the world by storm with their performance at Berlin StarLadder Major. There they went above and beyond all expectations and ended only one win short of reaching the playoffs, which was a massive achievement for a team such as themselves. At the said tournament, CR4ZY decimated the likes of FURIA, NiP and FaZe and even put up an impressive fight against the eventual champions Astralis.
Due to their impressive run in Berlin, where they finished ninth-11th, CR4ZY and their players appeared on the radar of some of the biggest esports organization, which eventually led to G2 Esports poaching their star players huNter- and nexa, who both left the team at the end of September. In order to replace the duo, CR4ZY signed Georgi "SHiPZ" Grigorov from Windigo and moved their coach emi back into the starting lineup.
The team went on to win DreamHack Open Rotterdam 2019 in late October and made deep runs in Atlanta (third-fourth), Jönköping (third-fourth) and Sevilla (second) in the remaining months of 2019. Besides their solid runs in DreamHack Open stops, CR4ZY also finished second at Arctic Invitational 2019 and DreamHack Masters Malmö 2019: European Qualifier, as well as clinched a fourth-place finish at ESEA Season 32: Premier Division – Europe.
Unfortunately, CR4ZY seem to be the victim of their own success, as their entire roster is said to part ways with the organization in order to join the North American scene. Which organization will take over CR4ZY's roster is as of today still a secret, as there are no official reports about the transfer. That being said, there are speculations the mystery team could be Misfits.
Misfits have previously competed in the CS:GO scene between 2017 and 2018, with varying degrees of success, until they decided to disband their team on February 13, 2018, following their disappointing 19th-21st place finish at ELEAGUE Major: Boston 2018. However, there have been rumours suggesting the NA organization is looking to form a new CS:GO team, which makes them perfect candidates to sign CR4ZY's roster.
Whether our speculations are true or not remains to be seen, however, if the rumours prove to be true, we won’t have to wait for too long to get a definitive answer.
CR4ZY's current line-up:
Nestor "LETN1" Tanić
Rokas "EspiranTo" Milasauskas
Otto "ottoNd" Sihvo
Luka "emi" Vuković
Georgi "SHiPZ" Grigorov
Neil "NeiL_M" Murphy (coach)
