Discover the Marvel Rivals hero that matches your style the best.
Marvel Rivals initially launched with more than thirty characters each offering unique abilities, playstyles, and team compositions.
Every Marvel Rivals character falls into one of three roles — Vanguard, Duelist, and Strategist — and each provides a distinct gameplay experience.
Choosing the right hero at a crucial moment can make a world of difference, potentially turning around a losing situation in your team’s favour.
It could be a challenging decision finding the right Marvel Rivals hero, whether you are a newcomer understanding the various gameplay systems, or a seasoned player who has spent substantial time on the battlefield.
To simplify this decision, we have built this Marvel Rivals tier list, categorising all heroes from the best to worst. This should help you choose a character that fits both the current meta and your playing style.
Top-ranked Marvel Rivals heroes
Our Marvel Rivals heroes tier list divides the entire hero catalogue into four tiers, from S to C.
TIER | EXPLANATION OF TIER |
S | These are the strongest heroes that blend well with any team and are also easy to master. |
A | They are nearly as potent as S-tier heroes, but the learning curve is steeper. |
B | These characters are potent but only effective under certain conditions and require appropriate team coordination to excel. |
C | These are respectable heroes who lack suitable team coordination and are weaker in the current gameplay meta. |
Before delving into the detailed tier list, it’s important to note that this is not a definitive list and you can enjoy Marvel Rivals with any character. Regardless of their tier.
HERO TIER IN MARVEL RIVALS | MARVEL RIVALS HERO |
S | Psylocke, Luna Snow, Winter Soldier, Moon Knight, Magneto, Mantis, Star-Lord, The Punisher |
A | Jeff the Land Shark, Cloak & Dagger, Groot, Scarlet Witch, Venom, Hela, Loki, Hawkeye, Iron Fist |
B | Adam Warlock, Magik, Iron Man, Black Panther, Rocket Raccoon, Spider-Man, Peni Parker, Squirrel Girl, Captain America |
C | Wolverine, Storm, Hulk, Black Widow, Hulk, Namor |
All S-tier Marvel Rivals heroes are among the strongest of their respective types.
They are straightforward to learn, and they can maximize their abilities without relying on other characters.
For example, Psylocke is a top-level Duelist who can infiltrate enemy lines, eliminate them with her psionic crossbow, and utilize her dodge capability to quickly evade danger; all independently of her teammates.
Paired with her outstanding ultimate ability, which can efficiently wipe out the enemy squad, this results in an extremely formidable and self-sustaining unit.
In the same vein, Luna Snow is recognized as the best Strategist in the game because of her ability to heal herself and her team and inflict damage on enemies.
She has an ultimate ability that is not only easy to use but can be applied to either increase damage or heal all allies within her range.
While the A-tier Marvel Rivals characters are almost as powerful and useful as the S-tier, they are more difficult to learn.
For example, Jeff the Land Shark is just as efficient a healer as Luna Snow, but his ability ‘It’s Jeff!’ can be a small nuisance as it indiscriminately gulps both allies and enemies and disrupts the flow of the game.
In comparison, his healing bubble ability is either very effective or entirely ineffective, solely dependent on timing. Overall, A-tier characters can be a deadly addition once you get better at controlling them.
All B-tier Marvel Heroes are equipped with proper characters, but they require effective team coordination to maximize their full potential. It is advised to experiment with these if you are playing with a group of regulars.
For example, Magik could just burst into an enemy base and quickly neutralize them with her robust melee attacks. Nevertheless, her slow movement allows an escape for fast Strategies or enables long-range Duelists to knock her down.
So, if you’re thinking of playing Magik, it’s advisable to team up with characters like Scarlet Witch who can stun adversaries, setting you up for your deadly melee attacks.
Similarly, you can use characters like Luna Snow to freeze enemies, which will then be easy targets for Magik’s greatsword.
All C-tier Marvel Rivals characters are, unfortunately, a bit of a disappointment at the moment. Not only are they underpowered, but they are also challenging to master.
For instance, Black Widow can deal nice damage like Hawkeye, but her attacks are not as powerful and quite hard to execute.
Her ultimate isn’t that powerful either, so until these aspects are improved, it’s a better idea to try and master other Duelists in the game.
That wraps up our Marvel Rivals tier list.
