The first international event of the 2024 Apex Legends Global Series, the Split One Playoffs, will feature 40 teams from six different leagues. These teams will compete for a chance to represent their region at the first LAN event of the competitive season.
Each Pro League consists of 30 teams, which are divided into three groups. They compete in a triple round-robin format, with the top 20 teams advancing to the Regional Finals, played on Match Point Format. The Regional Finals winner automatically secures a spot at the Split One Playoffs, joined by teams with the highest point totals. This ensures that each region sends their best teams to the Playoffs.
The number of teams each region sends is based on their performance in the 2023 ALGS season. North America, having won all three LAN events in 2023, is sending 12 Apex teams to the Split One Playoffs. EMEA, APAC-N, and APAC-S are each sending eight teams. South America, despite losing their Pro League status from 2023, is still sending their top two teams from the Challenger Circuit. Lastly, China will have two teams directly invited to the Playoffs by the ALGS, making a total of 40 teams at LAN.
Fans can anticipate intense competition as teams vie for the largest share of the $1,000,000 prize pool and Playoff Points. These points will determine the top 30 global teams attending the 2024 Championship later in the season. The performance of each team will also influence their region’s future for the Split Two Playoffs, as the total Playoff Points earned by all teams in a region will decide if they gain or lose up to two slots at the next LAN tournament, as per the new Advancement clause in the ALGS rulebook.
